My Two eyes( to see)
· My 5 senses. What are they? (see, hear,touch, smell and taste)
· Function: What can I do with my eyes? Look, see close and far away, cry, read.
  • Eyes send pictures to your brain to tell your brain what you see around you.
  • What do my eyes look like?
  • What shape is my eyeball? Circle
  • Eye socket is the hollow area in your head.
  • Pupil is the round coloured ball in the eye.
  • Eyelid- protects the eye by opening and closing it several times a minute (blinking)
  • Eyelashes: help eyelids to keep dirt out of your eyes.
  • Protection for your eyes:
  • Do not look into the sun.
  • Don’t stick anything in our eyes.
  • Familiarise the learner with his/her eyes

Memory game:
· Repeat the numbers in the same order.

To introduce each child.

Mental maths: Teacher uses flash cards of the different colours. Learners name the colours. Let the learners group themselves according to the colour of the clothes they are wearing.

My 2 ears (to hear)
· Function
· What can I do with my ears? (hear loud, soft and quiet noises)(listen)
· Biggest part of your ear is inside your head.
· What does my ear look like?
· The part you can see “catches” the sound and sends it through your ear trumpet to the eardrum and then to your brain.
· Protection
· Don’t shout in other’s ears
· Don’t stick anything in your ear
· Clean them regularly! How? (ear cleaner)
· Don’t hit on someone’s ear. You can damage their eardrum.

  • My Nose (smell)
  • Fuction:what can I do with my nose?(smell)
  • Little hair in your nose “catches” the smell. And sneeze to get rid of the dust.
  • What does my ear look like?
  • It’s between your eyes and above your mouth.
  • You have two nostrils where the smell gets in.
  • Protection:
  • Don’t sniff (not good manners) blow regularly
  • Use tissues
  • Never use someone’s tissues (germs)
  • Don’t stick things up your nose.
  • Exercise: smell different smells

  • Put different objects in a bag learners must feel and name the shapes of the objects.
